Resolution Records occupies a wooden cabin built into the vaulted glass roof of Green Park Station, stocked by Mark O'Shaughnessy, who ran the Resolution Records label and DJ'd alongside Norman Jay before opening the shop in 2008 after moving from Brixton. Around 5,000 records fill the space, weighted towards soul, funk, disco, hip-hop, reggae and rock, bought as individual choice pieces rather than job lots. O'Shaughnessy previously ran an appointment-only shop in Brixton where producers came looking for samples, including for early Chemical Brothers records, and that ear for a good cut carries over into what reaches the racks in Bath. It is the only shop in the city dealing exclusively in secondhand and specialist vinyl. Opening hours run to 6pm on Thursdays and close entirely on Sundays.
