Mark Riley, a gemmologist and diamond grader with more than thirty-five years in the trade, moved his workshop from Ipswich to 122 High Street, Aldeburgh, in 2004. His bench sits on the shop floor, where he handmakes engagement, wedding and eternity rings alongside repairs, remodels and valuations. His best-known pieces are the Aldeburgh Pebbles, cast in solid silver or gold from moulds taken directly off pebbles gathered on Aldeburgh beach; because each mould is used once, every pebble is unique. The shop also carries new and second-hand stock across price ranges, and handles watch repairs and adjustments alongside its jewellery work.
