T R & C Carpenter has traded as an ironmonger from Cattle Market since 1956 and was the last shop in Sandwich to keep the traditional Wednesday early closing, a custom it only gave up in 2025. The shop stocks tools, timber, paint, ironmongery and garden chemicals, and is now run by Joseph Quinn.
