Eleanor Wilson has directed The Bake House on Highlands Road in Runcorn since incorporating the business in January 2017, running brunch, lunch and cake service from a single site rather than a group of branches. The kitchen bakes cakes fresh daily rather than bringing them in, alongside an all-day breakfast and lunch menu covering vegan and other dietary options. Seating stays open through the afternoon on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, when the kitchen serves until five rather than closing at three as it does earlier in the week. Weekend evenings sometimes extend later for ticketed events. The café sits on a residential road away from Runcorn's main shopping parade, drawing custom from locals rather than passing shoppers. Coffee, cake and savoury food are all made in house rather than bought in pre-prepared.
