The Lockdown Pub & Kitchen occupies 45-47 Canal Street in Runcorn, a building formerly known as the Canalside and then the Quayside before its current operators took over. The pub states on its own site that it trades as a free house, not part of any pub company, and pours beer accordingly rather than from a tied list. Seven screens cover live sport, and a separate pool room holds five dartboards for regulars. Food comes from two resident kitchen partners, Turn Up The Base for pizza and Baseline Burgers for smashed burgers, both serving Wednesday to Sunday rather than every day. Live music plays most weekends, and a function room seating up to two hundred hosts private bookings. The pub opens daily from midday to midnight, run as an independent single site in the town centre.
