An 18th-century stone inn on Anserdale Lane, opposite St Mary's Church with its Norman crypt. Ali Moran took over in 2021 and kept the cosy bar, snug and two dining rooms, with a York range fire in winter. The kitchen sources beef, game and vegetables from nearby farms for pies and Sunday roasts.
