The ClayRoom

The Clay Room runs from Studio 4 at Makers' Yard, a converted building on Rutland Street shared with several small creative businesses. The studio is built around membership, with beginners starting on a taster session before progressing to six-week evening courses covering hand-building, wheel-throwing, decorating and glazing. At weekends it runs six-hour Clay Days for anyone from complete beginners to returning potters wanting a full day at the wheel, and one-to-one tuition is available for those wanting faster progress or a specific project finished. Members who complete the beginner pathway can book independent studio time to work on their own pieces using the shared kilns and glazes. The studio is open every day of the week and also takes private group bookings for parties and team sessions.
