Gemma Williams opened The Little Cheesemonger in Rhuddlan in 2017 after years working in cheese and food retail, and has since moved the shop to a larger unit on Prestatyn High Street. The counter concentrates on Welsh cheeses, stocking names such as Hafod Organic and Caws Cenarth alongside chutneys and hampers built to order. Williams, who describes herself as a self-confessed curd nerd, has built a reputation for championing small Welsh producers and collaborating with other local food businesses on tastings and pairing events. The shop's food hygiene rating was reconfirmed in February 2025. It remains one of the few dedicated cheese counters on this stretch of the North Wales coast.
