Urban ClayNorfolk

Jo and Liz, former colleagues at a local school, opened Urban Clay in Aylsham in 2019 as a paint-your-own pottery studio, later adding block-printing and lampshade-making sessions. Customers choose a piece of blank bisque, from tiles to figurines, and paint it at the studio's tables before staff fire and glaze it for collection. The studio takes birthday parties and hen groups as well as walk-in painters, seats upward of thirty at once, and serves coffee from Norwich roaster Tropic Coffee and tea from the Nelson and Norfolk Tea Company at a small counter near the entrance. Wheelchair access and a changing area are built into the fit-out, and well-behaved dogs are allowed inside.
