The Hop In occupies a converted shop on Market Street, its beamed interior and bay window looking down toward the town centre. Jane Edrupt and Nigel Davies opened the pub on 4 August 2017, describing it at the time as Norfolk's only micropub; Julie and Adrian Hillier have owned it since 2024. Beer is served on gravity from a small cask stillage behind the bar, with five changing lines drawn mostly from local and regional microbreweries, alongside real cider and wine. There is no television, jukebox or fruit machine, and the pub follows the wider micropub approach of favouring conversation over amusements. Downstairs seats around a dozen, with further seating upstairs and outside tables used in good weather.
