Whilton LocksGarden Village

Whilton Locks Garden Village sits beside the Grand Union Canal at Whilton Locks, a few miles from Daventry, and has been family-run and independent since 2004. Because it buys its own stock rather than following a chain buying list, the plant tables and gift areas carry one-off and less common lines alongside everyday bedding, shrubs and compost. The site has grown to include Bruno's Pet Store, a recently extended canalside restaurant, dog grooming and event space for group visits and children's parties, with wheelchair access throughout. Its canal-lock setting makes it a walking and boating stop as much as a shopping one. The business remains a single location rather than a branch of a national group, and runs a loyalty and gift-card scheme for regular customers. Parking is on site and admission is free.
