Tom Sawyer and his daughter Sam took over Early Doors in early 2019, continuing a micropub that opened in February 2015 as the first of its kind in Northamptonshire, set inside a former mobility shop on Prince William Walk in Daventry. The bar is built from weathered scaffolding planks and the floor is bare concrete, with furniture largely made from recycled and reclaimed materials rather than a standard pub fit-out. Beer comes from local breweries including Potbelly, Church End, Roman Way, Salopian and Vale, alongside cider from the village of Welton, with no lager taps, fruit machines or piped music. The pub won CAMRA's Northamptonshire Pub of the Season for winter 2023/24. It is a freehold, run directly by the family rather than tied to a pub company, with a small standing bar area and a handful of tables.
