Yorwarth FreshFish

Yorwarth Fresh Fish is a fishmonger and smokehouse at 6 Dane Road in Seaford, run by a family that has fished the Sussex coast for more than 200 years. The business owns and works its own boats, landing day-caught fish and shellfish that are sold fresh from the Seaford premises or smoked on site. The range includes fresh fish and shellfish alongside smoked fish, fish cakes and other prepared and frozen goods. Alongside the Seaford shop and local free deliveries, the family also sells at weekend farmers' markets in London, including Stoke Newington and Wimbledon Village, taking their catch directly from the boat to the counter without a wholesaler in between. The multi-generational fishing history gives the business a direct line from crew to customer that has become rarer on the south coast as larger operators and imported fish have taken a greater share of the retail trade.
