Andwell Brewing Company was founded in 2008 by Adam and Helen Komrower, who first brewed at Lodge Farm in North Warnborough before moving the operation to its present site in the riverside hamlet of Andwell, near Hook, in 2011. The brewery occupies a converted trout smoke-house on the River Lyde and runs a 20-barrel plant under head brewer Alex Bell, a former International Brewing Challenge supreme champion. Cask and bottled real ales are produced using traditional methods and, where possible, Hampshire-grown hops and floor-malted barley. The on-site brewery shop sells bottles, polypins and gift packs and is open Monday to Saturday, with a small taproom pouring the full beer range alongside spirits from other regional producers. Andwell runs guided brewery tours roughly monthly, taking visitors through mashing and fermentation before a tasting session. The brewery supplies pubs, bottle shops and farm shops across North Hampshire, including several within a few miles of the brewery itself.
