Angela and Ruaridh Smith opened Arkleston Farm Shop and Kitchen in 2025 on land where they had already run a different agricultural business for twelve years. After roughly eighteen months of planning, they converted farm buildings on the 22-acre site into a shop, butchery, deli counter and café seating around eighty. Angela has described the sourcing policy plainly: the shop stocks only independent farms and producers, nothing that also appears on supermarket shelves. The butcher's counter sells fresh cuts alongside dairy and seasonal fruit and vegetables, and the café serves breakfast and lunch with a takeaway hatch for customers passing through. The farm shop and butchery open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm, with the café running a shorter day until 4pm, breakfast until noon and lunch after.
