Barsham Brewery brews on the West Barsham Estate, land Susanna Soames's family has farmed for generations. Jeremy and Susanna Soames launched the brewery in 2012, taking over craft ales previously produced on the estate by brewer Jo Coubrough, who retains some input into recipes under the new name. The estate grows its own Maris Otter malting barley, using the local soil and coastal micro-climate the family credits for the grain's quality. The taproom, set within the Stackyard buildings, pours the brewery's beers alongside local wines, cocktails, spirits and cider, with bottles and take-home containers, including firkins and poly pins, sold from the attached shop. Dogs are welcome in the taproom, and brewery tours can be arranged for visitors wanting to see the production side firsthand.
