Cairngorm Brewery was formed in 2001 through the merger of the former Aviemore and Tomintoul breweries, and now brews on an industrial estate at Dalfaber, on the edge of Aviemore. Managing director Samantha Faircliff oversees a twenty-barrel plant producing cask ales alongside keg and bottled beer. Trade Winds, the brewery's flagship beer, outsells the rest of the range several times over, while Wildcat and Black Gold represent the more traditional Scottish styles in the portfolio. A shop and tap room adjoining the brewhouse sells the full range for drinking on site or taking away, and brewery tours include a sampling session at the end. The taproom and shop trade Monday to Friday, 11am to 5pm, and Saturday, 10am to 5pm, closed Sunday.
