Corick House began as bishop's lands granted at the Plantation of Ulster, with the Story family settled on the estate from around 1697 and remaining for roughly three centuries as agents, clergy and farmers. Architect Charles Lanyon remodelled the house in 1863, adding the garden front and its Italianate tower. Jean Beacom bought the house and two hectares of grounds in 1994 and opened it as a nine-bedroom guesthouse in 1996; her grandchildren now run what has grown into a forty-three room hotel with eight suites, split between the original Georgian rooms and a newer wing. The spa holds seven treatment rooms and what the hotel describes as the first Vichy shower installed in Northern Ireland, and the restaurant draws on local produce for its menus.
