Crest Upholstery has worked from Newtownabbey since 1999, re-covering domestic suites, dining chairs and headboards as well as making curtains, pelmets and cushions to measure. The workshop also takes on French polishing and restoration of older furniture frames, and handles commercial contracts re-upholstering seating for pubs, clubs and hotels across County Antrim and greater Belfast. Car and caravan interiors are recovered on site too, using the same cutting and stitching equipment as the furniture work. Fabric and leather are chosen with customers piece by piece rather than sold as pre-set packages, and repairs are carried out on frames as well as covers so older suites can be kept rather than replaced. The business has traded from the same Church Road premises for over two decades, building its client base largely through repeat domestic work and referrals from the hospitality trade it also serves, rather than through a retail shopfront.
