The Crown and Shamrock stands on the Antrim Road at Glengormley and dates to 1872, making it one of the oldest pubs in County Antrim. The O'Boyle family took it on in 1925 and have run it ever since, keeping a largely unaltered interior of small, panelled rooms; the rear lounge was fitted out in the 1960s and survives as a period piece. It is listed on CAMRA's National Inventory of historic pub interiors for that intact character. Traditional music sessions are a regular fixture, and the bar keeps a rotating range of craft beers and gins alongside the usual pints. The pub has also had a turn on screen, with scenes for the film Middletown shot on the premises. Food is served, and several rooms give drinkers a choice of where to settle.
