Lurgan West Lodge is a bed and breakfast run by Sheila McLaughlin half a mile outside Randalstown, on the northern shore of Lough Neagh. The lodge has three en-suite rooms plus a self-catering studio apartment with its own kitchenette, and breakfast is built around eggs from the owner's own chickens rather than a supermarket delivery. Guests are within five minutes' drive of Shane's Castle and Antrim town, with Randalstown's pubs, restaurants and shops closer still on foot. Free parking and wifi are included, and rooms keep a plain, bright decoration rather than a themed country-house look. It suits walkers and cyclists using the lough shore paths, and anglers heading further on to the River Bann, more than anyone wanting a full-service hotel with a restaurant on site.
