Elgood's Brewery occupies a Georgian brewhouse on North Brink beside the River Nene in Wisbech, built in 1795 and owned by the Elgood family since 1878, now run by the fifth generation. It is one of the few independent brewers to have operated continuously from the same site for over two centuries. Cask ales include Cambridge Bitter, Cambridge Gold, Black Dog dark mild and a range of porters, brewed on site using traditional methods alongside modern plant. A shop and tap room sell the full range plus bottled beers, and the adjoining walled garden, laid out in the early 1900s, opens to visitors on selected event days through the season. The brewery continues to supply its own pubs and free trade accounts across the Fens while remaining independently owned throughout its history. Tours can be arranged by appointment, and the site hosts occasional beer festivals and tastings.
