Fairdeal Garden Centre has traded from Andersonstown Road for close to four decades, established in the mid-1980s and now run by Michael Hawkins as a family business. The single-site centre stocks pots, compost, plants, sheds and garden furniture, and offers a refill service for customers who bring in their own tubs and containers to be topped up with compost or bedding plants rather than buying new ones. It has no branches elsewhere in Belfast. Seasonal stock shifts from bedding plants and hanging baskets in spring to Christmas trees and wreaths in winter, reflecting demand from the surrounding Andersonstown and west Belfast area. The centre has built its reputation on staff offering planting advice rather than a self-service model, serving a customer base that in some cases spans several generations of the same west Belfast families.
