Molly's Yard opened in December 2005 in the restored nineteenth-century stables of College Green House, just off Botanic Avenue in the Queen's Quarter. It is owned by Hilden Brewing Company, based in nearby Lisburn and reputed to be Ireland's oldest independent brewery, making Molly's Yard its sole Belfast restaurant and the only place in the city serving Hilden's Headless Dog, Belfast Blonde and Molly's Chocolate Stout on tap. The dining room and covered courtyard occupy the single former stable building, where the restaurant once ran a small onsite brewery, since discontinued. The kitchen serves Irish food built around wheaten bread, local meat and seasonal vegetables. Three months after opening, it won Best Newcomer from the Restaurant Association of Ireland. Two decades on, it remains one of Belfast's few restaurants tied directly to a single brewery's own beers.
