Lagan Boat Company was established in 1998 by Derek Booker and Joyce Anderson, initially running trips up the River Lagan as far as Cutter's Wharf in Stranmillis before crossing the weir in 2001 to become one of the first operators to narrate the story of the Titanic from the water. Its Titanic Boat Tour passes the former Harland and Wolff drawing offices and the slipways where the ship was built and launched, continuing through the Musgrave Channel past a seal breeding colony. The company operates from a single base at Donegall Quay, a short walk from Lanyon Place station, running its cruises and private charters as one business rather than a chain of branches in different cities.
