Fiddler's Green sits on Portaferry's central square, bought in July 1989 by Maureen and Frank McCarthy, a Belfast couple who gave up Frank's job driving lorries once the bar's trade took off. Their sons Paul and Jim play banjo, mandolin, fiddle and accordion in the bar most nights, and the pub is now run by their son Conor and his wife Tracy. Rooms upstairs include a four-poster en-suite let out as bed and breakfast, and a door used in Game of Thrones filming draws fans passing through on the Ards Peninsula. The pub does not currently serve cask ale.
