Liam James runs a working pottery studio on Cobden Street in Long Eaton, teaching hand-building, wheel throwing and glazing to small groups rather than large classes. Evening sessions run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from six to nine, while a weekend workshop takes place every other Sunday morning for those who cannot make evenings. Taster workshops suit complete beginners wanting a single session before committing to a longer course, and James also takes one-to-one students and bespoke group bookings. The studio is described as light and airy, with wheels and kiln space shared between students rather than assigned individually. Long Eaton has little else in the way of dedicated craft teaching space, making the studio a rare local outlet for anyone wanting to learn the wheel rather than travelling into Nottingham or Derby.
