Martin Edwards converted a former draper's shop on Long Eaton's High Street into Rowells Drinking Emporium, keeping many of the building's original fittings intact behind the bar. Up to six real ales are dispensed by gravity straight from casks racked in a temperature-controlled cool room rather than through handpumps, a method that keeps the beer at a steadier condition and favours smaller breweries whose casks might otherwise sit too long on a pump. The selection changes regularly and leans toward independent brewers from across the Midlands, alongside a rotating cider list. There is no food menu or music, in keeping with the quieter, conversation-first style associated with the micropub movement. The pub is a short walk from Long Eaton's town centre shops and the market place, at 22 High Street.
