Michael Moon's Bookshop has traded from 19 Lowther Street in Whitehaven since 1970, filling thirteen rooms across the building with more than 30,000 secondhand, antiquarian and rare books. Its stock leans heavily on Lake District and Cumbrian topography and history, alongside strong sections in cinema and general antiquarian material, built up over more than five decades of buying and selling. The shop is a member of the Provincial Booksellers Fairs Association and lists further stock through AbeBooks, though its premises on Lowther Street remain the sole trading address. Wooden shelving fills the rooms floor to ceiling, and browsing runs across several connected spaces rather than a single open-plan floor. The bookshop has operated independently throughout its history, without branches elsewhere in Cumbria or beyond.
