Monmouth Canoe &Activity Centre

Monmouth Canoe & Activity Centre has hired out Canadian canoes and kayaks from Castle Yard on Old Dixton Road for more than 30 years, running trips on the River Wye between Glasbury, Hay-on-Wye and Chepstow. The centre provides transport to the put-in point and collects paddlers and boats at the end of the trip, with half-day, full-day and multi-day hire alongside guided river trips and courses for beginners and more experienced paddlers. Camping pods on site allow visitors to stay over before or after a trip. The stretch of river covered runs through the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Forest of Dean, taking in views near Symonds Yat and the ruins along the valley. The centre operates daily from March to November, closing to hire over the winter months. It is registered as Monmouth Canoe & Activity Centre Limited and trades from its single Old Dixton Road site.
