Theo and Pippa Howie left London in 2016 for Pippa's family farm at Acklington, where dairying had stopped in 2009, and converted the old milking parlour into a brewery. Theo, who had worked at Wild Card Brewery in Walthamstow, began brewing in 2017 with four beers: Run Hop Run, The Pale Ale, Trickster and Owl Porter. The farmhouse brewery takes its name from the ridge-and-furrow plough marks in the adjoining field, the same field where the couple married. The taproom now pours ten or more beers with rotating street food, and the brewery has since added a canning line and cider made from Northumbrian apples.
