Puffin Crafts

Alison runs Puffin Crafts from a unit on the A1068 on the edge of Amble, next to the Londis and the Esso garage, where visitors choose a piece of bisque pottery, a wooden shape or a length of bunting and paint it at one of the shop's tables. A flat charge of three pounds covers paint, brushes and glitter for up to ninety minutes, with the piece itself costing anywhere from under two pounds to eight pounds for a larger item such as an animal or money box. Birthday parties are booked the same way, and the space is wheelchair accessible with notice given in advance. It opens Wednesday to Saturday and Sunday afternoons, closed the rest of the week, giving families staying along the coast somewhere to go on a wet afternoon.
