Rutland House occupies 61a High Street East in Uppingham, run by Jenny Hitchen, who has kept hotels and bed and breakfast accommodation for thirty-five years. Having scaled the business back to a single room, Hitchen now offers one en-suite bedroom with a double and a single bed, a small seating area, a fridge and microwave, and tea and coffee facilities, along with a secluded off-road parking space reached from the High Street. Breakfast and Wi-Fi are included, and guests use a separate entrance from the main house. Kept deliberately small rather than expanded into further rooms or a second property, it offers one of Uppingham's more personal stays, a short walk from the town's shops and school.
