Stuart House Arts& Heritage Centre

A Grade II* listed medieval townhouse on Barras Street, restored by the Stuart House Trust since 1988 and run as a free-to-enter arts and heritage centre. Rooms host changing exhibitions of local art and craft alongside a permanent display on the English Civil War, when King Charles I is recorded as having stayed here in 1644. A small café overlooks a walled seventeenth-century garden.
