Alex and Hannah run this all-day café on Boutport Street, one of Barnstaple's oldest streets. Alex bought the business from his brother Martin, who had owned it since 2020, after working as a chef alongside well-known television cooks. The kitchen serves breakfast until 2pm, built around a fried breakfast called The Big One, made up of sausages, eggs, hash brown, grilled tomato, baked beans and toast, alongside a BLT stacked with thick-cut bacon sourced from a nearby butcher. Cream teas are served throughout the day, with the scone split and jam added before cream. The café welcomes dogs, sets out water bowls at the door, and has no toilet of its own, directing customers to public facilities nearby instead.
