The Cabinof Makers

The Cabin of Makers opened on Campbell Street in Belper in 2022 as a shop and gallery run collectively by a group of Derbyshire makers. Members work across woodworking, textiles, jewellery, illustration, printmaking, paper-cutting, ceramics and photography, with pieces sold from the shared shop floor and some work produced during open studio sessions on the premises. Stock rotates as members bring in new pieces, so the shelves change through the year rather than holding a fixed range. The space also hosts workshops and demonstrations run by individual makers for visitors wanting to try a craft themselves. It is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and run as a single independent venture rather than a franchise.
