Fran Cutmore, Kate Lowe and Daizy Stevens, who previously taught pottery classes at the craft studio in Denby Pottery Village, opened their own space at Unicorn House on Wellington Street in Ripley in June 2026. The studio offers wheel-throwing sessions for beginners and returning potters alongside hand-building classes that do not require a wheel, working from pastel-painted rooms strung with fairy lights. Clay is prepared and fired on site, with finished pieces available for collection several weeks after glazing. The three founders built the studio around walk-in courses and one-off sessions rather than long-term membership, aiming to keep pottery approachable for people trying it for the first time as well as more experienced hobbyists. Street parking is available outside Unicorn House, with further spaces at the Wellington Street car park nearby.
