Angus MacDonald opened the Highland Bookshop at 60 High Street, Fort William, in 2017, working with the owners of the Aberfeldy Watermill to give the town its first specialist independent bookshop. The shop has since spread across three floors, with new fiction and Scottish interest titles on the ground floor and one of the largest collections of outdoor guidebooks and maps in the Highlands for walkers and climbers exploring Lochaber. A secondhand and antiquarian section occupies the top floor alongside graphic novels, folklore and local art prints. Staff take special orders for titles not in stock, with most arriving within three to five days. The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9:30am to 5pm and Sunday from 11am to 4pm.
