The Plant Centreat Hortus Loci

The Plant Centre is the retail side of Hortus Loci, a specialist plant nursery at Hound Green near Hook. It offers well over four thousand varieties of perennials, shrubs, roses, trees and hedging, drawing on the wholesale nursery that grows plants for show gardens and landscapers. Staff give planting advice and run a consultation and planting service, and there is a coffee shop on site. The centre opens seven days a week, Monday to Saturday from 9am and Sundays from 9.30am, closing at 4pm. It is run by Hortus Loci Ltd, company 6278640, as a single retail location rather than a national garden-centre chain. The depth of the growing operation and the plant knowledge behind the counter set it apart from a general garden centre, and much of what is sold is propagated on the nursery itself.
