Voyages of Discovery runs boat trips from St Davids out to Ramsey Island and the surrounding waters of the Pembrokeshire Marine Nature Reserve. John Price started the business in 1992 and it has stayed within the family since, now run by his wife Bethan and son Rhys. Trips include circumnavigations of Ramsey Island, sea-cave exploration, wildlife-watching voyages for seals, porpoises and seabirds, and shorter excursions for visitors with less time. The booking office sits on St Davids' High Street, with boats departing from the nearby harbour and lifeboat slipway. After more than three decades of operation, the company describes itself as the only locally family-run boat trip operator working out of St Davids, distinct from the larger multi-activity operators also based on the peninsula. Sailings run seasonally depending on tides and weather, and skippers draw on local knowledge built up over the life of the business.
