We AreZest

Lisa Cathro bought the South Street café in 2008 and grew it into a social enterprise that trains people who face barriers to employment, working alongside Fife Council Supported Employment, Job Centre Plus and HMP Castle Huntly. Coffee is ground fresh from the bean for every order, and the tea list is loose-leaf only, including peppermint grown on site. Cathro has been named a Disability Confident Leader by the Department for Work and Pensions, one of two in Fife. The kitchen makes its own soups, bagels and cakes. Zest opens seven days a week from 7am to 4pm on South Street, and staff work toward SVQ qualifications while running the counter for regulars who return for the coffee first.
