Aberdeen Ceramics Studio occupies a unit at Deemouth Business Centre in Torry, set up by a team of Gray's School of Art graduates and tutors who wanted a kiln-equipped studio open to the whole city. Two of its instructors, AJ Simpson and Matthew Wilcock, each won Channel 4's Great Pottery Throw Down in separate series. The studio runs handbuilding and wheel-throwing courses from two-week tasters to eight-week programmes, alongside memberships giving access to four kilns for private firings. Sunday sessions run 10am to 6pm, with evening classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
