Almondine

Almondine trades from a small shopfront on Chapel Street in Aberdeen city centre, founded in 2011 by sisters Jenny Bromley and Suzanne Horne after finding nowhere in the city selling French macarons. The pair spent around eighteen months testing recipes before settling on their own method and opening the shop, which now specialises in macarons alongside a wider patisserie counter of tarts, cakes and celebration bakes. Afternoon tea is served at small tables within the shop for those wanting to sit in rather than take away. A companion branch the sisters opened in Inverurie has since closed, leaving the Chapel Street shop as the business's single trading premises. Boxes of macarons are made to order for gifts and events.
