Leanne Gill and Karen Close opened All Is Good in Penistone in 2021, fitting a refill counter, gift shop and small coffee bar into Unit C at the Penistone One precinct on St Mary's Street. Shoppers bring their own containers to fill with household liquids and dry goods rather than buying pre-packaged versions, and a side room stocks work from more than 40 Yorkshire makers, covering candles, ceramics, prints and other small-batch goods. A crowdfunding campaign helped the pair fit out the shop before opening, and coffee is served from the same counter as the refill scales, so a visit for washing-up liquid can double as a coffee stop. The shop positions itself around reducing packaging waste rather than general grocery retail.
