The Blacksmiths Arms stands on Manchester Road in Millhouse Green, a stone-built pub that started out as a blacksmith's forge serving farms along the old road between Penistone and Manchester. It is run as a leasehold tenancy under Admiral Taverns, with cask ales including Bradfield Blonde and Bradfield Pale on the bar alongside a fireplace built around an old kitchen range. Four en-suite letting rooms sit upstairs, used by walkers heading into the Peak District as much as by locals with visiting family. A beer garden, car park, darts and a pool table round out the ground floor, and Friday nights bring karaoke rather than quiet drinking. Food service is limited rather than a full kitchen operation. Dogs are welcome in parts of the pub.
