Applestump Records

Steve and Danielle started Applestump Records in 2020 with around a hundred LPs bought from a distributor, selling from home with free local delivery while the country was in lockdown. Weekend pop-ups at Miss Marmalade's café built a following before the pair opened a permanent shop on Barker Street, and in September 2025 they moved again to a larger unit at 4 Oatmarket to make room for gigs and in-store events. The shop carries new releases alongside a rotating stock of second-hand vinyl across genres, plus turntables, cleaning kits and merchandise, and is registered as an official UK chart-reporting retailer. Steve and Danielle sponsor a music show on local station The Cat FM and host signings with visiting artists, building the shop around conversation between customers as much as the records themselves.
