Founded in 1976 and open to the public from 1979, the Isle of Arran Heritage Museum stands at Rosaburn on the main road just north of Brodick. Originally a small school site, the present buildings were a croft and smiddy and include a farmhouse, cottage, bothy, milk house, laundry, stable and harness room, with exhibits on the island's social history, archaeology and geology. Thirty-four volunteers run it. Adult admission £5; Café Rosaburn closes Mondays.
