The Pierhead Tavern, known locally as the PHT, occupies a waterfront position on Shore Road in Lamlash on the Isle of Arran, looking across the bay to Holy Isle. The family-run bar and restaurant seats up to 80 inside, with an additional roof terrace holding 40 that shares the same view. Real ales rotate through the summer months from Scottish brewers including the neighbouring Arran Brewery, dropping to a single cask in winter, and the back bar carries whisky from Arran, Islay and further afield. The bar menu covers steak pie, burgers, fish and chips, fajitas and steaks, with dishes changing according to what is available. A quiz runs on Wednesday evenings and live music takes over on Saturdays, occasionally extending to Sunday afternoons. The pub functions as a genuine local as much as a visitor stop, drawing island residents alongside walkers and day-trippers arriving off the Lamlash road.
