Arran's Cheese Shop occupies the former creamery at Home Farm, Brodick, where Ian and Alison McChlery began making cheese in 1991. Gordon and Margo Kinniburgh bought the business in 2003 and added Bellevue Cheese Company the following year, bringing Arran Blue, Arran Mist brie and a camembert into the range alongside fourteen flavoured cheddars. The cheddars are still made on site, and a viewing window lets customers watch production while they taste samples at the counter. The shop stocks other Arran food producers' goods alongside its own cheese, and sells through farmers' markets, delis and farm shops across Scotland as well as from the Home Farm counter. Seven permanent staff run the shop, with seasonal help added over summer. Gordon Kinniburgh has said his approach is simply to make a consistent product and treat customers and staff well.
