Arthur Howell

There has been an Arthur Howell butchering in north Norfolk since 1889, when the first of them set up in Binham; the fourth Arthur runs the firm today from Staithe Street in Wells-next-the-Sea, with the Binham original and a Burnham Market branch making three counters, disclosed here as the family's spread. The Countryside Alliance named it the East of England's best butcher at the 2024 awards, presented at the House of Lords — a long way from Binham, where the sausages are unmoved by the news.
